Starting a Business

Earlier posts on this blog have listed ideas for home businesses that can be started with little investment. It's a universal problem -- we all can make use of an extra few dollars. Some of you, of course, have been victims of the 'economic downturn,' and need a steadily-producing source of income.

Here's an idea that might be just the thing for many of you!

I was looking for some way to stay employed while also staying at home with my two kids and there was just no way my corporate job was going to cut it. That’s when my sister had the genius idea that we should open a home daycare together. Brilliant!

I had a finished basement that was huge and just begging to be turned into a home business and my sister had been in marketing for over ten years, so we would definitely get some publicity. After just a few months of planning we were up and running – it’s been the best thing I’ve ever done!

We contracted with a local children’s store to get all the furniture we needed and signed up for wimax through www.wirelessinternet.net/verizon-4g/ so we could have a reliable internet connection all over the house. Our attorney has been great in helping us figure out all the tax preparations and small business laws and we’ve got more business than we can take on. I’d say if there was a good problem to have, that would be it!
